WOW!, Traps, Doppelgangers, and Traps!

Alright, there's a lot going on tonight, so take it slow and let's just go step by step.
First we've got Hikarism ch 2, from the more recent Change H.  Honestly, this should have come out a while ago, but it got held up in cleaning due to the cleaner on this project having some real life stuff he had to prioritize, and then the same thing happened in typesetting.  Anyway, now that it's out, who cares about that anymore, go read it!

Next on the agenda is chapter two of Near Equal, one of our non-trap series.  I thought this was a pretty good chapter, and I hope you agree:

After that, we have the scans of the new Oto Nyan for you!  Like last time, we're making everything except the manga public right off the bat.  Of particular interest in the set we put up is that udk did an illustration for the gallery again this time.  Some comments about the manga however - it looks like this magazine is a little like Change H in that some ongoing series will take an issue off, since some that should have continuations aren't in this issue, also, Docchi is only four pages this month.  In any case, the content looks pretty good this time around (a little more to my taste, last issue had some stuff that was a little whorish for my liking, really).  It's a two part archive.

Last but not least, something we had no involvement in.  You may have noticed that we use Haruka from Amagami SS as our mascot, in fact the WOW! in WOW!scans is from one of her Engrish lines in the show.  Keeping that in mind, whether you're familiar with the show or not, you should go download this non-H doujin based on her and the MC just before they started really dating.  It's the first post, unless you run across this weeks from now or something:

WOW!, Does This Count as Gender Bender?!?

Well, we've been thinking about the release schedule for this one, since it's a 4kmoa...  After batting around the idea of daily releases of a page (two 4koma strips) at a time for a while, I kind of realized that we don't want to lock ourselves into a release schedule that makes it easy to let you guys down if something comes up on our end, so we're going to just go ahead and do typical chapter at a time releases with this one.  Anyway, now that I bored the shit out of you - This is the first chapter of a series called Near Equal.  Like I said, it's a 4koma (although it starts off with a more traditionally formatted intro piece).  It's an interesting premise, pretty funny, and like I said, I'm not sure how to categorize it~

Alright, a not-really-WOW!scans-related blog update for the first time in quite a while.  I've been working on piecing together a torrent of all known-to-be-scanned shota/trap anthology magazines for a while now, and it's finally done.  They're all shota anthologies, but I'd guess a little over half of them are focused on crossdressing, so I figured y'all might be interested.  I dunno, check it out or not, it's your prerogative.

Alright, as I'm sure you've noticed, we're tinkering with the layout.  Bear with it, I think it'll lead to a better site overall.  Newswise, I have a few things that are worth mentioning.

Alright, last on the agenda: WOW!'s schedule and whatnot.  I'm still hoping we can work our way up to two releases per week, but I'm completely out of the picture from Tuesday to Thursday with how busy classes are.  All that really means is that we need to settle into a groove where I'm getting one script done Friday night and one done Monday night, which I think is doable.  The group that was doing Maid in Japan and then stopped for over four months just released chapter 3...  I think we'll go ahead on plan on still doing this series, what we'll probably do is release the newest chapter, regardless of who did the previous chapters - ie, if we did a chapter right now, it'd be the fourth one, if they then did the fifth, we'd skip to the sixth - they have 6 translators and we only have one, I'm not interested in an e-peen contest over the series, but I definitely want it to get completed for the sake of the fans.  I think we'll get something in the 'about us' page about our tentative schedule and such, and keep it updated, so that I don't have to clog the front page with these kinds of updates...

WOW, it's News and HD Miku

Alright, so the translation on "The Secret Devil-chan" is making me rip my hair out, so I thought I'd take a break and share some miscellaneous news you may have missed.

 First up, there's an animated Poju project in the works.  See the picture above, it's all the info we have at the moment.  The 2010 dates are when that particular promo artwork was put up on Poju's site, and the 2011 with no month or day listed near it is referring to the actual release of the anime.  Like I said, we don't really have details other than that pic yet, but it looks like we've got a trap main character and a male main character (or they're the same person with a wig), Poju's doing character designs (that's all it says he's doing, at least), and Studio Zealot is doing the production (they're a doujin circle, hope for lighter censorship without a sacrifice in quality, that'd be our best case scenario).

Next, you may have heard a bit about the anime: "Mayo elle Otokonoko" announced with the 2nd volume of Waai.  Basically at this point, we've got a confirmed trap character and a "cute boy" character, along with a slew of females.  They haven't announced distro on this (OVA, ONA, TV, etc), but it'd be a fair guess to think that it'll at least start as an OVA being distributed with upcoming issues of Waai.  See the animenewsnetwork link for the cast list so far, the second link is the Japanese site for the show.

Last on the trap front, there's a new trap magazine coming in October.  Oto★Nyan sounds like it'll be more focused on original manga than Waai is (Waai's contents are only half manga, there's a bunch of articles and such), especially if the list of tentative participating mangaka is correct (9 onboard already?).  Not much to say really, other than that I'm looking forward to seeing what Oto★Nyan's got to offer.

General WOW! housekeeping stuff:
I'd like to sub the Prunus Girl drama CD, but for a variety of reasons it would be a massive pain in the ass compared to working with manga.  If anyone wants to work on it as a joint release, email me and we can talk about exactly which aspects I'd need help with before considering it seriously any time soon.  I'll probably do something for it translation wise anyway, but not till the very very end of my to do list.
We're looking for Mei no Naisho raws.  If anyone has a copy they could scan or somehow ran across raws online (I couldn't find any when I looked ;_;) It's be awesome if you could share.  So far volume one is out by another group (find em on mangahelpers), and it's a really cute story, so I'd like to get the ball rolling on it again.

Yeah, yesterday I said I had something to share, and I do.  It's the four disc compilation album from comiket that you may have seen me mention at some point.  Since it's four discs, and it uses Miku, Rin, Len, and possibly more, and the musical styles change from song to song, AND it's a compilation of works be different artists, I think it has something for everyone.  Definitely check it out.  External link for this one, since tora.to already messes up tags a bit, I don't want to mangle them further and then re upload:

A Little Out of Character, I Know...

This blog doesn't pretend to be anything other than a source for uploads and scanlations, but Satoshi Kon's passing and last words touched me enough that I felt like I should at least put up the link to the translation of the letter he left behind.  I won't comment further, other than simply saying that he was an amazing individual in his work and private lives, and he'll definitely be missed by many.
